Oil Voice publishes new study into cluster regional development strategy for marginal fields

The second study commissioned by ABT Oil and Gas investigates how clusters of marginal fields can be developed using innovative, low cost solutions. Building upon the previous study’s single and independent three field model, the report, published on Oil Voice, demonstrates a realistic strategy for capturing the huge potential of marginal fields.

Highlights include:

• By preventing early decommissioning, this approach will help to secure the 2 billion boe of reserves at risk in the UKCS
• Utilising re-deployable, low cost solutions the cluster development modelled delivers £800 million pre-tax profit
• Up to 120 marginal fields in the North Sea suitable for the SIFT solution worth over £37 billion to the UK economy
